We carry out residential structural survey and commercial survey in Blyth. Blyth is a town which is situated in Hertordshire.
Blyth is situated in the south east of Northumberland and lies on the south bank of the River Blyth. It is best known as an industrial port with much of the development taking place in the post medieval period. Most of the industry here centred on coal mining, although there were other industries such as the salt, chemical alkali works, a harpoon shop and ship building.
With the growth in industry so did the town grow, with many fine buildings being built in the 17 and 1800s along with ample terraced houses for the miners themselves. Blyth is also known for the Blyth Coastal Defence Battery which was built to protect the port against large battleships it later renamed to Fort Coulson during WWI and then with the increased threat in WWII another was built called the Gloucester Battery.
Blyth port still thrives today but through the trade of forest products, such as paper, although the majority of people work outside of the town, commuting to the larger cities.
A town fair is held once a year in July which is usually held around the market place, there is a theatre for cultural entertainment along with many pubs, cafes and restaurants. Blyth also has a recreational centre which has a sports hall, swimming pool, fitness room, skate park, a sauna, and a golf club located on the edge of the town.
If you are planning to book a building survey on a property you are purchasing in Blyth or the surrounding area then we would like to assure you that we always send a suitably qualified and experienced surveyor to carry out the job. This ensures that you get expert advice on any issues that we may find with the property we are surveying. All our surveyors are members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors - RICS - and are Independent Chartered Building Surveyors. Being 'independent' means that they are working for you and you alone; they do not work for a mortgage company or an estate agents, so they have your best interests at heart.
All our survey contain lots of images, clearly showing any problems that we have identified at the property such as woodworm, rising damp or cracking to the walls. We also use sketches in our survey which are aimed at helping you to understand how certain areas are constructed or to help show more clearly a problem that we have identified. You will also find lots of definitions of any building terminology that we may use in our survey, as we firmly believe in 'Plain English' and really want you to fully understand what we are saying in the survey report.
