Near to the M1 and close to the junction A5120 is the Bedfordshire town of Harlington which is surrounded by villages Westoning to the north, Sharpenhoe to the east, Sundon to the south and Toddington to the west.

Harlington has the Church of St. Mary the Virgin which dates back to the 13th Century. The church has a perpendicular tower and has many interesting and old stained glass windows which have scenes from The Pilgrim's Progress. The Church tower contains a Medieval door which accesses the belfry which contains some of the oldest church bells in Bedfordshire.

There are two schools in Harlington which are Harlington Lower School and Harlington Upper School. The Lower School is for boys and girls aged between four and nine and was situated in Church Road for a few years and a new school was built on Westoning Road . The Upper School is for boys and girls aged between 13 and 18, it has recently been refurbished and now provides a modern and fresh look to the building. The school has become a Specialist Science College providing excellent facilities and support for the students.
