Sevenoaks is located near the villages of Otford to the north, Ivy Hatch to the east, Weald to the south and Whitley Row to the west, it is near the M25 and A25 and just off the A224 and B2019. With its closeness to London , excellent roadlinks and wealth of delightful properties it is a most sought after area for commuters and is an affluent area.
Knole Park Golf Club was built in 1924 and is located in a thousand acres, it is a 18 hole course set in the beautiful countryside.
Sevenoaks Wildlife Reserve is set in woodland with lakes and has over two thousand different species of fungi that can be found . The Reserve was created from a previous commercial gravel pit and was the first of such ventures in the country with many following its example of creating a wonderful habitat for wildlife and a delightful place to relax and enjoy the flora and forna.
The stunning Knole mansion is located to the eastern side of Sevenoaks and is home to fallow deer in the delightful surrounding parkland. The magnificent house was once home to Thomas Cranmer, the Archbishop of Canterbury, Henry VIII then later the Sackville family and in 1946 the National Trust took over the maintenance of this spectacular building.
During the great storm of 1987 six of the seven oak trees synonymous with the town were torn down with the strong winds in Knole Park with a replanting taking place, subsequent vandalism and then more replanting with nine oak trees now in place.
Sevenoaks is a town for the wealthy with many larger dwellings in roads such as Akehurst Lane , Ashgrove Road , Avenue Road and Blackhall Lane reaching well over a million pounds.
