Back to Bedfordshire

Sharnbrook is situated to the north of the River Ouse and is a large attractive stone-built village with a mix of old stone and thatched cottages and modern housing. The village has developed as a ribbon-settlement which runs south-east to north-west with most of the community being clustered at the north-western end. The village benefits from a beautiful medieval church dating back to Norman times and this is the oldest building in Sharnbrook. The church has a prominent perpendicular spire.

Sharnbrook was recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086 but was probably first developed in Saxon times.
