Woburn Abbey and Safari Park
Woburn Safari Park is a national award winning park of 3,000 acres. The Woburn Park Estate comprises other major tourist attractions including Woburn Abbey which has been the home of the Dukes of Bedford for 350 years and has a supurb collection of antiques and works of art. There is a fantastic Deer Park and the beautiful village of Woburn itself which has some lovely individual shops and antique shops as well as cafes, pubs and restaurants.
Woburn Village
The village of Woburn is a lovely Georgian Village with good restaurants and pubs and a variety of specialist shops including antique shops.
A monthly farmers market is held in the village on the third Sunday of each month on cobbled stones of 'the Pitchings' and a good selection of fresh produce is available from the traders.
The Oyster Festival
Each year the Oyster Festival takes place in the village centre. Markets and fairs have been held in Woburn since 1242. Not just oysters are on offer at this festival, there is a variety of foods and drink over the weekend with street entertainers and live music going on and a giant flea market, craft fair and kids funfair.
